The Sun (Tarot Tales)

On her eighteenth birthday, Debra’s parents were killed in an automobile accident.

As the only living relative she inherited everything, including a rune-carved wooden box. Her lawyer told her she must open the box only at home and only when she was alone. Following those instructions, she found an amulet and a note that told her to “follow the sun.”

Following the sun symbols led Debra on a fantastical journey even her imagination could not have foreseen. It also led her to a life-altering challenge. Would she live up to the demands of that challenge or would she be doomed to fail?

In exchange for this peaceful existence, they had to submit their child to an annual predictive reading by the Wheel of Fortune. And abide by all the consequences those readings ordained.

Would you do it?

The World (Tarot Tales)

The world changed, transformed itself, into an entirely new configuration once each year. Only that which were within enclosures—buildings, walled towns or villages—stayed the same. But without, once the Change finished, it was all different.

Knowing the Change was due to occur at sunset, three villagers rushed through the market stalls. They then hurried to make it back to their village as the sun lowered in the west.

Would they make it back in time? Or would they be caught out in the open, not knowing where they would find themselves when the Change was over, estranged from their homes, their families, their friends, perhaps forever.
